Kelly Wearstler and John Demsey
I was once told of an individual that everything they touched turned to gold. After hands-on experience, I was able to formulate my own belief that the situation was otherwise, but still absolutely loved the term. What an honor, to have someone say that of you! Well, truthfully, I think everything that Kelly Wearstler touches turns to gold – including her parties! Obviously, such a femme with an eye for design would throw a fabulously chic party and these recent pictures in the March 2011 issue of Architectural Digest (which is also an incredibly refreshing edition for the publication) prove it.

now THAT is a table setting – have to love hot pink & stripes!

such creative paint-splattered place cards – love the tattered edges.

Jo Malone candles on tabletop sculptures – captivating!
I think the main tips I can gather from these photographs are: don’t be afraid to pair a bold pop of color with an equally strong pattern, incorporate a mix of decorative fixtures to keep things interesting, and mix and match vases with flirtatious flowers like tulips! In addition, I’m wondering if there’s anything else quite like a candlelit dinner? The mix of candles certainly adds something to the room – as I’m sure the scents from Jo Malone did as well!
