LOVE a feathered handband… from Vogue
One of my favorite new online communities, is Condé Nast’s – The Style Society. Recently, on the Condé Nast Style Society Blog, this spread from VOGUE was highlighted on the modern use of diamonds as accessories. I was just as captivated by the diamonds as I was by the other unique ways each model was styled. From the scarves, to the collars, to the hair bows, to feathers – there was certainly a selection of inspiring ensembles. Before I had even seen these images, I purchased a vintage turquoise feathered headband from the House of MacGregor – and I’m so glad I did! It feels so right at the moment.

this antique looking necklace on silk is beyond gorgeous.
this is such a beautiful Victorian look – I love the CUFFS, the bow, and the collar!
LOVE LOVE LOVE – these poufy textured shoulders – how chic!
this look is fantastic – from the medallion jewelry to the silk bow mixed with the boldly “painted” graphic print – perfection
See, are you as inspired as I am? I am very much looking forward to continuing to have way too much fun with accessories this fall! As this perfect spread shows, you can pile on accessories in a refined way without being gaudy, over-the-top, or too commercial looking.
Fall 2011, is all about having the right eye and perfect balance while curating a mix of different styles, textures, and sizes when accessorizing. It looks as if these girls rummaged their closets, mix and matched a few different unique pieces, and came out looking like a fine painting. That, to me, is modern style done right.
