decor, style

Not only was I given the opportunity to write about the opening of the new Cornelia Spa at the Surrey Hotel in NYC in this previous post, on a recent business trip, I was invited to visit the spa in person and try skincare products from the Cornelia skincare collection.

The spa is as elegant as you’d imagine it would be – set in an exquisite boutique hotel like The Surrey.  The colors are light, soothing, and I loved looking at all of the coffee table tomes from Taschen.  I relaxed in a private chair with a blanket before the Cornelia Signature Massage.  The massage incorporated Swedish, Deep-Tissue, and Trigger Point massage techniques.  It truly was incredible!

The spa owner, Ellen Sackoff, was kind enough to give me a tour of the massage and the Cornelia products.  I went home with some delicious natural lavender lemon cookies, Champagne Shimmer, and the smoothing and concealing Emerald Eye Cream.  I wore the Champagne Shimmer Body Luster to the lake the other weekend and received so many compliments!  It smells as amazing as it looks – very flattering on the skin and especially under the bright Texas sun!

The Emerald Eye Cream counteracts any redness under the eyes.  It’s a miracle.  I’ve worn it to bed for the past several weeks.  I’ve certainly awoken with less puffiness around the eyes in the morning (even after just a few hours of sleep).

I also enjoyed some delicious Prosecco après massage with frozen grapes.  I couldn’t have asked for a better treat- but certainly did not complain about the coconut gelato!

I learned so much about the products, the spa, and some hidden NYC gems from Ellen- it was a true pleasure to meet her.  And, one interesting tidbit I certainly put to good use?   Starting each day with a tablespoon of honey!  The Cornelia Spa starts treatments with a tablespoon of their signature Cornelia Black Sage Honey. It’s FANTASTIC.  I highly recommend it!

Another treatment I’m dying to try? The Caviar & Oxygen Reparative Quench facial - the name alone has sold me!

Read more in a recent T Magazine review here and visit the Cornelia Spa website here. Well, until next time I’m going to be safeguarding that champagne shimmer my friends are dying to get their hands on…. I’ll certainly be returning soon!
