This past weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful Caliza Pool at Alys Beach, Florida - a luxury resort on the Gulf of Mexico. The main pool is a 100 ft. long ellipse and is one of the largest saltwater pools in the world.
The town founders of Alys Beach had dreams that their pool would be a standout from design standards as one of the most beautiful ever created. Their aspirations were certainly realized when architects and residents Erik Vogt and Marieanne Khoury-Vogt designed the Caliza Pool to be a communal space in the timeless tradition of the Greek agora or the Roman piazza. The result is breathtaking.
From cabanas, to an outdoor bar, poolside restaurant, lap pool, sauna, and private lounge areas (not to mention the stunning bathrooms and changing rooms), the Caliza Pool is simply magnificent.
It was the perfect spot to catch up with great friends with a cocktail on a beautiful Saturday evening. I hope to visit again soon!
