guests, style

I was so excited to have my good friend, Christopher Kent, review the new Birchbox Man Box for Nonsense & Sensibility. Of course, one must ask their most stylish male friends for help when it comes to reviewing these types of products – Christopher was a perfect choice!  Here is what he had to say:

A Review of the Premiere Birchbox Man Box

I received an email of late, from a good friend, asking if I would like to receive a package from Birchbox. Never having heard of this company, but intrigued at the same time, I didn’t ask any questions and simply replied “sure”.

When the minimally dressed cardboard box arrived a couple days later, I was eager to see
what this was all about.

The simplicity of the packaging was a refreshing approach, which allowed the products inside to speak for themselves. Because of the boxes compact nature, it seemed like the perfect travel companion or even a great gift for the man in your life, who doesn’t purchase grooming products for themselves all that often.

My sample box contained shampoo for oily hair, facial cleanser with glycolic acid, cologne, and a watch, which according to a card accompanying the items, states you can put money on it and pay for lunch (still trying to figure this one out).

Some of these products I would not have chosen myself. Being that I have naturally dry hair, a shampoo for anti-oiliness is non-needed. The watch I would not spend money on, but the cologne and facial cleanser I would definitely use.

Due to the size of the products (sample size) this allows you to try multiple products until you find ones that you like. This also helps reduce high retail costs and eliminates most waste had you purchased the regular size products without testing them out first.

Overall, concept is solid. With a few tweaks here and there, Birchbox for men will definitely thrive!
